Sustainability and cycle tourism in the Maresme
Let’s enjoy sport while preserving the environment
In the Maresme we are lucky to find nature sites of great value, with parks such as the Serralada Litoral and Serralada Marina coastal ranges and the Montnegre i el Corredor forest park. Maintaining them is everyone's responsibility.
We encourage you to enjoy the parks and their surroundings, but to leave the places as you would like to find them; leaving always the smallest possible trace of your presence there. So we suggest that when you visit the Maresme on a bike, whether by road or in the hills, keep in mind that:
We encourage you to enjoy the parks and their surroundings, but to leave the places as you would like to find them; leaving always the smallest possible trace of your presence there. So we suggest that when you visit the Maresme on a bike, whether by road or in the hills, keep in mind that:
- Protected natural spaces are places where you can do outdoor activities and get to know our natural and cultural heritage. Keep them protected.
- Always travel on the paths and trails provided. Don't take short cuts.
- Adjust your speed to the type of road you are riding on and avoid skidding, which causes soil erosion. The maximum speed allowed in the parks is 30 kph, except in the Serralada Marina, where it is 20 kph.
- Pedestrians have priority. Give way to them.
- Follow the signs and respect the heritage.
- Don’t leave rubbish in the environment, not even organic waste, as it can take time to break down and impact on the landscape.
- Always respect the flora and fauna. .
